Chicago Apache Daylily

Plant in moist, well-drained soil amended with compost. Space 18–24 inches apart. Water thoroughly after planting and mulch lightly around the base.

Water regularly, especially during dry spells and the bloom period. Remove spent flower scapes after all buds have opened and finished. Divide every 3–4 years in spring or fall when clumps become overcrowded or bloom quality declines. Fertilize in spring with a balanced fertilizer. Largely pest-free. The vivid, velvety scarlet-red flowers with a yellow throat are striking and produced freely over a long season. An excellent heat-tolerant daylily.
