Duchesse de Nemours Peony

Plant with the eyes no more than 1–2 inches below the soil surface in fertile, well-drained soil amended with compost. Choose a permanent location. Space 3–4 feet apart. Water thoroughly after planting.

Water regularly during spring growth and bloom. Stake large double flower heads before they become top-heavy. Remove all foliage in late fall to reduce disease. Do not remove foliage until it has died back naturally- it fuels the roots for next year. Fertilize lightly in spring and after flowering. Peonies are extremely long-lived and resent disturbance. Duchesse de Nemours is a classic, creamy-white double peony with excellent fragrance and long-established garden performance.
