Ruby Ribbons® Switch Grass

Plant in average to lean, well-drained soil. Space 2–3 feet apart. Water thoroughly after planting. Switch grass is a native prairie grass that adapts to a wide range of soil conditions.

Water regularly the first season; once established it is quite drought tolerant. Cut back to 4–6 inches in late winter or early spring before new growth begins. Do not cut back in fall- the seed heads and warm fall color provide outstanding winter interest and wildlife habitat. Divide every 4–5 years in spring. No fertilization needed. The bold, burgundy-red foliage color develops in summer and deepens through fall. Largely pest-free. An outstanding ornamental grass for four-season interest.
