Plant in moist, well-drained to average soil. Space 2–3 feet apart. Water thoroughly after planting and mulch lightly.

Care Tips

Water regularly after planting; once established it tolerates moderate drought. The tall, candelabra-like spikes of white flowers in midsummer are striking and highly attractive to a wide range of native pollinators- particularly bumble bees and beneficial wasps. Stake tall stems in windy locations if needed. Cut to the ground in late fall or early spring. Divide every 4–5 years in spring. Largely pest-free and deer resistant. One of the most elegant and architecturally impressive native perennials for the moist sunny border.
