Planting and Care Guide

Planting Tips

Plant bulbs in fall, 3–4 inches deep in well-drained, fertile soil. Space 4–6 inches apart. Water thoroughly after planting. Good drainage is essential- bulbs will rot in wet soil.

Care Tips

Water regularly during spring growth and bloom. Allow the foliage to die back naturally before removing- it fuels the bulb for the following year. The globe-shaped flower heads in vivid, mixed colors are produced in abundance in late spring. Allow dried flower heads to remain on the plant for ornamental structural interest through summer. Divide crowded clumps every 3–4 years in fall. Fertilize lightly in early spring as growth begins. Largely pest-free and deer resistant.
