Planting and Care Guide

Planting Tips

Plant in spring or fall in well-drained soil. This juniper is very adaptable but dislikes wet or poorly drained spots, so avoid low areas where water pools. Dig the hole to the same depth as the root ball and two to three times as wide. Water thoroughly at planting and keep moist through the first growing season. Once established, it is highly drought tolerant.

Care Tips

Junipers need very little care once settled in. Light shaping can be done in early spring if needed, but avoid cutting back into bare, woody stems as they do not regrow from old wood. Remove any dead or diseased branches as needed. No regular fertilizing is necessary.
