Planting Tips

Plant in average to lean, well-drained to dry soil. Space 18–24 inches apart. Water thoroughly after planting. Lean, dry conditions produce the best silvery foliage and most compact growth.

Care Tips

Water after planting then reduce significantly once established- artemisia is highly drought tolerant and actually prefers drier conditions. Cut back hard in early spring to encourage fresh, dense new growth. Divide every few years in spring to maintain a tidy habit. Avoid rich, moist soils which cause floppy, weak growth and crown rot. Deer resistant and virtually pest-free. The intense, luminous silver-white foliage is outstanding as a contrast plant throughout the entire season.
