Feathery, cream-colored plumes rise high above a mound of fern-like foliage, resembling a giant astilbe. It is a robust native perennial that thrives in moist, shady locations.

Plant Goats Beard in early spring or fall in a location with partial to full shade. Ensure the soil is consistently moist and well-draining. Space plants 2-3 feet apart to allow for growth. Water regularly, especially during dry spells, to maintain soil moisture. Fertilize in early spring with a balanced, slow-release fertilizer. Deadhead spent flowers to encourage more blooms and cut back in late fall after the foliage dies back. Divide clumps every 3-4 years in early spring to maintain vigor.
