Grape Crush New England Aster

Plant in average to moist, well-drained soil. Space 18–24 inches apart. Water thoroughly after planting.

Water regularly through the growing season. To keep plants compact and encourage more blooms, pinch or cut stems back by half in late spring to early summer, then allow to grow naturally into fall. Cut to the ground in late fall or early spring. Divide every 2–3 years in spring when the center of the clump becomes open and woody. Powdery mildew may appear on lower foliage in late summer- good spacing and air circulation reduce it but rarely affect overall plant health.
