Planting Tips

Plant in average to lean, well-drained soil. Space 18–24 inches apart. Water thoroughly after planting.

Care Tips

Water regularly after planting; once established it is quite drought tolerant. Pinch stem tips back in late spring to encourage a compact, well-branched plant. Cut to the ground in late fall or early spring. Divide every 3–4 years in spring. Watch for aster yellows. The aromatic foliage is pleasant when crushed and the sky-blue flowers in October are among the latest-blooming of any native aster, extending the garden season deep into fall. A refined, compact selection with excellent disease resistance. Outstanding for pollinators.
