Planting Tips

Plant in moist to wet, humus-rich, slightly acidic soil. Space 18–24 inches apart. Water thoroughly after planting and mulch 2–3 inches deep to help retain moisture.

Care Tips

Consistent moisture is the most critical care requirement- astilbe will brown and decline quickly in dry soil. Water deeply and regularly throughout the growing season. Fertilize in spring and again after flowering with a balanced slow-release fertilizer. Divide every 3–4 years in spring or fall when the center of the clump begins to die out. The soft, peachy-pink plumes have a delicate, romantic quality that works beautifully in shade gardens and along water features.
