Autumn Carnation® Reblooming Azalea

Plant in moist, well-drained, acidic soil (pH 4.5–6.0) with generous organic matter. Space 3–4 feet apart. Water thoroughly after planting and mulch 2–3 inches deep, keeping mulch away from the crown.

Water deeply and consistently, especially during the first season and summer dry spells. Reblooming azaleas flower in spring on old wood and again in late summer and fall on new growth. Prune lightly immediately after the spring bloom only- pruning at other times removes developing fall flower buds. Fertilize in spring with an acid azalea fertilizer. Monitor for lace bugs on the undersides of leaves in summer. Largely otherwise pest-free when sited with good drainage and acidic soil.
