Planting Tips

Plant in moist, well-drained, acidic soil (pH 4.5–6.0) with generous organic matter. Space 3–4 feet apart. Water thoroughly after planting and mulch 2–3 inches deep, keeping mulch away from the crown.

Care Tips

Water deeply and consistently throughout the growing season. Encore azaleas bloom in spring on old wood and again in late summer and fall on new wood. Prune lightly only immediately after the spring bloom. Fertilize in spring with an acid azalea fertilizer. Monitor for lace bugs in summer. The vivid red flowers are produced in two distinct seasons, making Autumn Fire one of the most colorful and long-performing reblooming azaleas in the landscape.
