Planting Tips

Plant in moist, well-drained, acidic soil (pH 4.5–6.0) amended with organic matter. Space 4–5 feet apart. Water thoroughly after planting and mulch 2–3 inches deep.

Care Tips

Water deeply and consistently, especially during establishment and summer drought. Prune immediately after flowering- buds for the next season set shortly after bloom, so any pruning done at other times eliminates next year's flowers. Fertilize in spring with an acid-formulated fertilizer. Avoid alkaline soils and high-pH water, which cause yellowing. Monitor for lace bugs on the foliage undersides.
