Planting Tips

Plant in moist, well-drained, acidic soil (pH 4.5–6.0) amended with peat moss or compost. Space 3–5 feet apart. Water thoroughly after planting and mulch 2–3 inches deep with shredded bark or pine needles.

Care Tips

Water deeply and consistently, especially during establishment and summer drought. Prune lightly only immediately after flowering to avoid removing next year's flower buds. Fertilize in spring with an acid-formulated azalea fertilizer. Avoid high-pH soils or water, which cause yellowing foliage. Monitor for lace bugs in summer, which cause stippled, bleached spots on leaves. A reliable, attractive azalea for shaded borders and foundation plantings.
