Planting Tips

Plant in lean, well-drained, acidic soil (pH 4.5–6.0). Space 12–18 inches apart. Water thoroughly after planting. Excellent drainage is essential.

Care Tips

Water regularly after planting; once established it is quite drought tolerant. Shear lightly after flowering to maintain a compact, tidy form. Do not cut into old, leafless wood. Fertilize lightly in spring with an acid fertilizer. Viva has bright, vivid flower color over the summer to fall bloom season on a compact, well-behaved plant. The fine, evergreen foliage provides year-round texture. Largely pest-free and deer resistant. Excellent drainage and full sun are the keys to success with heather.
