Distinctive oat-like seeds hang from one side of the stem, creating a unique visual texture that dances in the wind. This drought-tolerant native grass serves as a larval host for butterflies and provides seeds for feeding birds in autumn.

Plant Side Oats Grama in well-drained soil with full sun exposure. Space plants about 12-18 inches apart. Water regularly until established, then reduce frequency as the plant is drought-tolerant.
