Distinguished by its drooping, oat-like seed heads that flutter in the slightest breeze. This shade-tolerant native grass turns a rich coppery-bronze in winter, providing excellent seasonal texture.

Plant Northern Sea Oats in well-drained soil with partial to full shade. Space plants 12-24 inches apart. Water regularly to establish roots, then reduce frequency. Fertilize lightly in spring. Cut back old foliage in late winter or early spring before new growth appears. Divide clumps every 3-4 years to maintain vigor.
