Planting Tips

Plant in fertile, moist, well-drained soil. Set the crown 2–3 inches below the soil surface to help protect against clematis wilt. Provide a sturdy trellis or support. Space 3–4 feet apart. Water thoroughly after planting and mulch to keep the root zone cool.

Care Tips

Water deeply and consistently throughout the growing season. Check the plant tag for pruning group- most reblooming clematis are Group 2 and should be pruned lightly in late winter, removing only dead or weak stems. Feed with a balanced fertilizer in spring after pruning and again in midsummer. Watch for clematis wilt- if stems suddenly collapse, cut back to healthy tissue at soil level immediately.
