Plant The Velvet Fog® Smokebush in well-drained soil with full sun exposure. Space plants 6-8 feet apart. Water regularly during the first growing season to establish a deep root system. Once established, it is drought-tolerant. Prune in late winter or early spring to maintain shape and encourage new growth. Fertilize in early spring with a balanced fertilizer. Protect from strong winds to prevent damage.
