Plant in spring or fall in fertile, well-drained soil, spacing 3–4 feet apart. Dig a wide, generous planting hole — at least twice the width of the root ball — and mix compost into the backfill. Water deeply after planting and apply 2–3 inches of mulch around the base, keeping mulch away from the main canes. Choose a site with good air circulation.

Prune in early spring when forsythia is in bloom, removing dead wood and reducing healthy canes by about one-third. Deadhead spent blooms throughout the season to encourage continuous flowering. Fertilize with a rose-specific fertilizer every four to six weeks from spring through late summer. Water at the base to keep foliage dry. This English rose produces fragrant, cup-shaped blooms with a warm, apricot-toned color.
