Planting and Care Guide

Planting Tips

Plant in spring or fall, spacing 5–6 feet apart in fertile, well-drained soil. Malvern Hills is a rambling rose with long, flexible canes that can be trained along a fence, over an arch, or up a pergola. Dig a wide, generous planting hole, amend with compost, and water deeply. Provide a sturdy support structure at planting time. Mulch well around the base.

Care Tips

Prune lightly in spring to remove dead wood and tie in new canes. Malvern Hills produces clusters of small, rosette-shaped yellow flowers repeatedly through the season — it is one of the most continuously flowering ramblers available. Fertilize every four to six weeks during the growing season. It has outstanding disease resistance, making it easier to maintain than many climbing roses. Deadhead lightly to encourage repeat blooming.
