Planting Tips

Plant in spring or fall in fertile, well-drained soil, spacing 3–4 feet apart. Dig a generous planting hole, add compost to the backfill, and water deeply after planting. Mulch well and select a site with good air movement. Port Sunlight is a well-proportioned, bushy English rose that performs reliably in the mixed border.

Care Tips

Prune in early spring, cutting healthy canes back by about one-third and removing all dead or weak growth. Deadhead spent blooms consistently to encourage repeat flowering. Fertilize every four to six weeks from spring through late summer. Port Sunlight produces warm apricot-buff blooms with a delicious, fruity-tea fragrance. Good disease resistance makes it a relatively easy English rose to maintain.
