Planting Tips

Plant in spring or fall in fertile, well-drained soil, spacing 3–4 feet apart. Dig a wide planting hole, amend with compost, and water deeply after planting. Apply mulch around the base and choose a spot with good air movement. Scarborough Fair is a compact, well-behaved variety that is well suited to smaller gardens and mixed perennial borders.

Care Tips

Prune in early spring, removing dead wood and cutting healthy canes back by about one-third. Deadhead spent blooms consistently to keep new flowers forming. Fertilize monthly from spring through late summer. Scarborough Fair produces soft pink, open-cupped blooms with a strong, sweet old-rose fragrance — one of the most beautifully scented of all the English roses. Very good disease resistance.
