Planting Tips

Plant in spring or fall, spacing 3–4 feet apart in fertile, well-drained soil. Dig a wide planting hole, incorporate compost into the backfill, and water deeply. Apply mulch around the base. Sophy's Rose is a compact, bushy variety that is reliable and relatively disease resistant, making it an excellent choice for home gardeners new to English roses.

Care Tips

Prune in early spring, removing dead wood and reducing healthy canes by about one-third. Deadhead throughout the season to encourage the repeat blooming this variety is known for. Fertilize monthly from spring through late summer. The bright rose-pink, rosette-shaped flowers are produced in generous clusters and have a light, fresh fragrance. A reliably floriferous and easy-to-grow English rose.
