Planting Tips

Plant in spring or fall, spacing 3–4 feet apart in fertile, well-drained soil. Dig a wide planting hole, incorporate compost into the backfill, and water thoroughly after planting. Apply 2–3 inches of mulch around the base and choose a site with good air circulation. Thomas A Becket is a vigorous, well-formed English rose with bold, deep-toned blooms.

Care Tips

Prune in early spring, removing dead wood and reducing healthy canes by about one-third. Deadhead spent blooms consistently throughout the season to encourage continuous flowering. Fertilize every four to six weeks from spring through late summer. Thomas A Becket produces richly colored, deep rose-pink blooms with a strong, classic old-rose fragrance — a bold, romantic presence in the garden.
