Plant in well-drained to dry, lean soil. Space 12–18 inches apart. Water thoroughly after planting. Excellent drainage is absolutely essential- this plant will not tolerate wet or heavy clay soil.

Water regularly during the first season to establish, then reduce significantly- established plants are highly drought tolerant and actually prefer dry conditions. No fertilization is needed or recommended. Remove spent flowers to keep the plant tidy. Trim back lightly in early spring if any winter damage occurred. Largely pest-free. An excellent low-maintenance groundcover for hot, dry slopes, rock gardens, and areas with challenging dry soil where few other plants succeed.
