Planting Tips

Plant in spring in fertile, well-drained, compost-enriched soil. Space 18–24 inches apart. Stake tall stems in spring before they become top-heavy, or plant in a location sheltered from strong winds. Water thoroughly after planting.

Care Tips

Water deeply and regularly throughout the growing season- consistent moisture is critical for good growth and bloom. After the first main flowering, cut spent flower spikes back to where side shoots are developing to encourage a second flush in late summer. Feed with a balanced fertilizer through the growing season. Watch for powdery mildew in late summer and slugs on young growth. Cut to the ground in late fall.
