Planting Tips

Plant in moist to average, well-drained soil. Space 18–24 inches apart. Water thoroughly after planting.

Care Tips

Water regularly after planting; once established it tolerates moderate drought but looks best with consistent moisture. Cut back to a few inches in early spring before new growth emerges- do not cut back in fall, as the foliage and seed heads provide excellent winter interest. Divide every 3–4 years in spring when the center begins to die out. The delicate, airy seed heads catch light beautifully and move gracefully in the breeze from midsummer through winter.
