One of the few ornamental grasses that blooms well in shady conditions, producing airy gold-green panicles. The dark green, fine-textured foliage forms a neat clump that remains semi-evergreen.

Plant Dwarf Tufted Hair Grass in well-drained soil with full sun to partial shade. Space plants 12-18 inches apart. Water regularly to establish, then reduce frequency as it becomes drought-tolerant. Fertilize lightly in spring with a balanced fertilizer. Trim back old foliage in late winter or early spring to encourage new growth. Divide clumps every 3-4 years to maintain vigor.
