Planting Tips

Plant in moist, well-drained soil amended with compost. Space 4–5 feet apart. Water thoroughly after planting.

Care Tips

Water regularly after planting; once established it has good drought tolerance. Prune immediately after flowering- deutzia blooms on the previous year's wood, so pruning at any other time removes next year's flower buds. Remove a few of the oldest stems at the base each year after bloom to encourage vigorous new growth and keep the plant from becoming woody and overgrown. Feed lightly in early spring. Largely pest- and disease-free and very easy to grow.
