Planting Tips

Plant in spring or fall in average to lean, well-drained to dry soil. Excellent drainage- especially in winter- is essential. Space 12–15 inches apart. Water thoroughly after planting. Avoid heavy, wet, or amended soils.

Care Tips

Water regularly after planting then reduce once established- mature plants are quite drought tolerant. Shear the plant back by about one-third immediately after flowering to keep it compact, encourage a second flush of bloom, and prevent the center from opening up. Feed lightly with a balanced fertilizer in early spring. Avoid excessive fertilization. Deer resistant and largely pest-free.
