Plant Old Fashioned Bleeding Heart in early spring or fall. Choose a location with partial to full shade and well-draining, moist soil. Space plants about 2-3 feet apart. Water regularly to keep the soil consistently moist but not waterlogged. Fertilize with a balanced, slow-release fertilizer in early spring. Deadhead spent flowers to encourage more blooms.
