Planting Tips

Plant in average, well-drained soil. Space 18–24 inches apart. Water thoroughly after planting and mulch lightly around the base.

Care Tips

Water consistently the first season; once established, coneflowers are quite drought tolerant. Deadhead spent blooms to encourage continued flowering through summer and into fall, or leave some seed heads standing for birds. Cut back to the ground in late fall or early spring. Divide every 3–4 years in spring to maintain vigor. Watch for aster yellows- any distorted, greenish, or malformed flowers indicate infection; remove and discard affected plants immediately.
