Planting Tips

Plant in average, well-drained soil. Space 18–24 inches apart. Water thoroughly after planting and mulch lightly around the base.

Care Tips

Water consistently the first season; once established it is quite drought tolerant. Deadhead spent blooms to encourage continuous flowering from midsummer into fall, or leave some seed heads for birds and winter interest. Cut back to the ground in late fall or early spring. Divide every 3–4 years in spring. Watch for aster yellows- distorted or malformed growth indicates infection; remove and discard affected plants immediately without composting.
