Sunmagic Vintage Mango opens a warm mango orange with pink undertones, and the petals are held out flat rather than reflexed, giving the flowers a broad open face. Echinacea Sunmagic Vintage Mango grows 18 to 24 inches tall and wide in full sun to part sun, hardy from Zone 4 through Zone 9.
Bloom starts in early summer and reblooms into fall on sturdy upright stems. Deadheading keeps the run going.
The habit is compact and even, which fits a container or a front-of-border planting.
Leave the last seedheads standing at the end of the season for goldfinches. Coneflowers take drought, heat, humidity, and poor soil once established, and they want well-drained ground. Winter wet is the usual cause of failure, so avoid low spots that stay saturated. Deer generally leave them alone.
