Blue Glow Globe Thistle

Plant in spring or fall in average to lean, well-drained to dry soil. Space 24–30 inches apart. Water thoroughly after planting. Poor to average soil produces the best, most upright growth- avoid rich or heavily amended beds.

Water consistently to establish, then reduce- mature plants are highly drought tolerant. Deadhead after flowering to prevent excessive self-seeding and to encourage a second flush of bloom. Cut back to the ground in late fall. Divide every 3–4 years in spring if needed, though established plants prefer not to be disturbed. Extremely attractive to bees and butterflies, and largely deer resistant. Makes an excellent cut and dried flower.
