Planting Tips

Plant in well-drained, acidic soil (pH 4.5–6.0) amended with peat moss or compost. Space 18–24 inches apart. Water thoroughly after planting and mulch lightly with pine needles or shredded bark.

Care Tips

Water regularly after planting; once established heather is moderately drought tolerant. Shear lightly immediately after flowering to remove spent blooms and encourage dense, compact new growth- avoid cutting back into old, bare wood. Fertilize lightly in spring with an acid-formulated fertilizer. Excellent drainage is essential year-round- heather will not survive in wet or poorly drained conditions. Largely pest-free.
