Silver Queen Euonymus

Plant in spring or fall in well-drained, average soil in partial shade to full sun, spacing 4–6 feet apart. Silver Queen is a compact, upright euonymus shrub with striking white-edged, dark green leaves that provide year-round color. It adapts to a wide range of conditions including clay and poor soils. Dig the planting hole to the same depth as the root ball and water well. Mulch lightly.

Shear or trim in late spring after new growth emerges to maintain a tidy, dense form. Remove any all-green shoots promptly — reversion to plain green is common in variegated euonymus and vigorous green shoots will eventually dominate if not removed. Watch for scale insects. Apply a balanced fertilizer in spring. Silver Queen provides attractive, reliable, year-round foliage color and is excellent for hedges, foundation plantings, and mixed borders.
