Pairs well with

Flower Carpet Peach Rose opens clusters of semi-double peach-pink flowers, a warm soft color that sits between the pinks and the apricots. Rosa Flower Carpet® Peach grows 2 to 3 feet tall and spreads 3 to 4 feet in full sun, hardy from Zone 5 through Zone 10.

Bloom is continuous from late spring through fall on a low mounding plant.

Flower Carpet roses were bred in Germany for landscape performance rather than cut-flower form: a low spreading habit, continuous bloom, and enough disease resistance to go without spraying. They are self-cleaning, so no deadheading, and they fill in to the ground rather than going bare at the base.

This one takes heat further south than most of the line, running to Zone 10, and the compact size suits a container or the front of a border rather than a broad bank. Cut back by about a third in late winter. Shipped on its own roots.

Planting and Care Guide

Planting Tips

Plant in spring or fall in fertile, well-drained soil, spacing 2–3 feet apart. Flower Carpet roses are some of the easiest roses to grow — they require minimal preparation. Dig a wide planting hole, add a little compost, and water deeply. Apply 2–3 inches of mulch and choose a site with good air circulation. These roses work beautifully as a low groundcover or in mass plantings.

Care Tips

Flower Carpet roses have excellent disease resistance and need very little care. Prune hard in early spring — cut all canes back to about 12 inches from the ground. This sounds drastic but produces the best, most prolific display. No deadheading is required — spent blooms fall away cleanly. Fertilize in spring with a rose or balanced fertilizer. Water during extended dry spells. Very rewarding and low maintenance.
