Planting and Care Guide

Planting Tips

Plant in average to lean, well-drained soil. Space 12-18 inches apart. Water thoroughly after planting. Lean soil and excellent drainage are key- rich or wet conditions shorten the plant's life.

Care Tips

Water regularly the first season; established plants are highly drought tolerant. Deadhead spent flowers consistently to keep the plant in continuous bloom. Cut back to the ground in late fall or early spring. Divide every 2–3 years in spring to rejuvenate- blanketflower is shorter-lived than many perennials and dividing regularly helps maintain a vigorous, long-lived planting. No fertilization needed. Largely pest-free.
