Happy Face® Orange Cinquefoil

Plant in spring or fall, spacing 3–4 feet apart. Cinquefoil adapts to a wide range of soils including poor, dry, and rocky conditions. Dig the planting hole to the depth of the root ball, backfill with existing soil, and water well. A light mulch helps retain moisture during the establishment period. This is one of the most cold-hardy flowering shrubs available.

Prune hard in early spring — cutting back by up to two-thirds encourages the most vigorous new growth and the best flower display. Without this annual pruning, plants can become woody and produce fewer blooms. Very drought tolerant and cold hardy once established. Water during the first season, then reduce. No regular fertilizing is needed. A tough, cheerful shrub that blooms all summer long.
