Blue Oat Grass

Plant in average to lean, well-drained to dry soil. Space 12–18 inches apart. Water thoroughly after planting. Good drainage is essential- this grass will decline in wet or heavy soil.

Water regularly after planting; once established it is quite drought tolerant. Comb out dead foliage with fingers or a rake in early spring and cut back to a few inches if the plant looks ragged. Divide every 2–3 years in spring when the center begins to die out. No fertilization needed. The intensely steel-blue foliage is most vivid in lean, dry conditions with full sun. Largely pest-free. One of the most reliably and intensely blue ornamental grasses available- excellent for color contrast in sunny borders.
