Planting Tips

Plant in spring or fall in moist, well-drained soil in partial shade, spacing 12–18 inches apart. Guacamole is a very popular coral bells variety with bright, avocado-green to chartreuse foliage that provides outstanding color in the shade garden. The warm, golden-green foliage glows in dappled light. Incorporate compost into the planting area and water well. Mulch to retain moisture.

Care Tips

Remove tattered or old foliage in early spring before new growth emerges. Divide every three to four years in spring, replanting at the correct depth. Feed lightly in spring. The bright chartreuse-green foliage brightens shaded areas and provides a beautiful complement to purple, dark, or silver-leaved companion plants. The airy flower spikes attract hummingbirds. One of the most popular and easily grown coral bells varieties available.
