Plant in moist, well-drained soil amended with compost. Space 18–24 inches apart. Water thoroughly after planting and mulch around the base.

Care Tips

Water regularly and consistently- steady moisture keeps the dark foliage looking lush and vibrant. This series is specifically bred for exceptional cold hardiness and performance in northern gardens. Divide every 3–4 years in spring, discarding woody crown sections and replanting healthy outer portions. Remove old foliage in early spring before new growth emerges. Largely pest-resistant. The near-black foliage is a dramatic contrast plant in mixed borders and containers.
