Planting Tips

Plant in average to lean, well-drained soil. Space 3–4 feet apart. Water thoroughly after planting.

Care Tips

Water regularly after planting; once established it is quite drought tolerant. Cut the entire plant back hard to within 4–6 inches of the ground in early spring before new growth begins- blooms on new wood and this hard annual pruning is essential for maintaining a compact, vigorous form. Fertilize lightly in spring after cutting back. The golden flowers and attractive red-tinted new foliage and fall berries add multiple seasons of interest. Largely pest-free.
