Planting Tips

Plant in moist, well-drained, slightly acidic to neutral soil. Space 8–12 feet apart. Water thoroughly after planting and mulch 2–3 inches deep, keeping mulch away from the trunk.

Care Tips

Water deeply and regularly the first 2–3 seasons; once established it tolerates moderate drought. Blue Prince is the standard male pollinator for Blue Princess and other female Meserve hollies. One Blue Prince can pollinate several nearby female plants. Little pruning is needed- the natural pyramidal form is attractive. Fertilize lightly in spring. The glossy, dark blue-green, evergreen foliage is attractive year-round. Monitor for scale insects. Largely otherwise pest-free.
