Planting Tips

Plant rhizomes with the top surface at or just above soil level in fertile, well-drained soil. Space 12–18 inches apart. Water thoroughly after planting. Full sun and excellent drainage are essential for success.

Care Tips

Water regularly during spring growth and bloom; reduce watering after flowering as bearded iris prefers drier summer conditions. Remove spent flower stalks after blooming. Keep foliage growing through summer to fuel next year's bloom. Divide every 3–4 years in mid-to-late summer when clumps become overcrowded and bloom declines. Fertilize lightly in early spring and after flowering. Monitor for iris borer and bacterial soft rot- good sanitation and correct planting depth help prevent both.
