Henry's Garnet Virginia Sweetspire

Plant in spring or fall in moist, well-drained to wet, acidic soil, spacing 4–5 feet apart. Henry's Garnet is the most widely grown sweetspire variety, prized for its pendulous white flower spikes in early summer and extraordinary garnet-red fall foliage that colors early and holds late. It adapts to wet soils, clay, and acidic conditions. Dig a generous planting hole and water well.

Water regularly after planting; tolerates drought and occasional wet conditions once established. Remove suckers if a contained shape is preferred. No heavy pruning needed- remove a few oldest stems at the base after flowering to keep it vigorous. Largely pest- and disease-free.
