Planting and Care Guide

Planting Tips

Plant in average to lean, well-drained to dry soil. Space 3–5 feet apart. Water thoroughly after planting. Excellent drainage is essential- junipers will not tolerate wet or poorly drained soil.

Care Tips

Water regularly after planting; once established it is highly drought tolerant. No regular pruning is needed- junipers hold a naturally attractive form and resent heavy pruning into old, leafless wood. Remove any dead branches as needed. Fertilize lightly in spring. The silver-blue foliage and abundant, powder-blue berry-like cones provide excellent year-round ornamental appeal. Largely pest-free and deer resistant. An attractive, low-maintenance spreading juniper for sunny, dry sites.
